The majority of residents—around 81%—live in rural areas, while the remaining 19% reside in urban centers, including the main city of Kot Addu which now hosts over 142,000 people. The population is youthful and vibrant, with nearly 29% under the age of 10, reflecting a high birth rate and growing future demand for education and services. The area has seen steady population growth of nearly 10% since 2017, indicating increasing development and urbanization. Saraiki is the most widely spoken language (spoken by nearly 80% of the population), followed by Punjabi, Urdu, and Pashto. The literacy rate across the district stands at 57.4%, with a noticeable gender gap: 66.2% literacy among males compared to 48.5% among females.
